Last month, NetDocuments introduced CollabSpaces, a new feature that takes the concept of sharing secure content with external users one step further. This supports one of the primary missions of NetDocuments: to manage, collaborate, and share content in one secure location to improve workplace productivity while ensuring that sensitive information is never lost or in the wrong hands.
Here’s how it works:
CollabSpaces now appears in NetDocuments as its own tab within a workspace. Because these shared documents are in a workspace, they are subject to the rules, security settings and retention policies for that workspace. Any documents that are shared with users outside of an organization are listed. Icons to the left of a document name indicate their shared status. There is no limit to the number of CollabSpaces that can be created and no limit to the number of outside users that can be added to a CollabSpace. Searches can now be performed for CollabSpaces just as they can for documents, folders and workspaces.

We’ve heard the question from some of our clients –With the introduction of CollabSpaces, what about ShareSpaces?
ShareSpaces still exist for now but will eventually be discontinued. Users can manually move documents from a ShareSpace into a CollabSpace at any time. The system will eventually be changed to prevent new content from being added to a ShareSpace, or prevent new ShareSpaces from being created.
