Sage Software is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Timeslips Version 2012. Continuing its tradition of being a world class time & billing solution for small- to medium-size service-based firms, this release offers features to improve workflow in the billing process, plus a move in a new direction – using its data for document production and management.
Among the new features –
- The Ability to Edit Previously Generated Bills — How many of us have that “special” client who waits six months before calling to tell us why they don’t like our bill? Naturally, they want a revised copy. The problem is, we can’t undo bills that far back. Now in Timeslips 2012, when you approve bills, you are able to save the bill images in .PDF or Rich Text Format, to either send by email, store the bills, or edit them at a later date, should that become necessary. You may also optionally have the file automatically open after printing
- The Ability to Store Bills in Pre-defined Locations – Many of our clients want to keep copies of their bills in .PDF format. They would also like some say in where those bills are stored. Now in Version 2012, you can choose to assign a folder, by client, in which to save your bills.
- The Ability to Merge Client Data Into Word Templates – It’s all there: the client’s name, address, phone numbers, etc. Wouldn’t it be great if we didn’t have to work so hard to get that data out of Timeslips and into a document? It’s not a problem anymore — now you can create document templates using client data. ALL of the data. And since Version 2011 introduced the ability to define up to 90 custom client fields, you can use them, too. Version 2012 comes with two templates ready to go: a Collection Letter, and a Request for a Retainer. Don’t like them? Make up your own!
- The Ability to Have Exclusive Access to the Database – We need to do something in Timeslips that requires exclusive access. Yes, we informed the staff and sent out an email. But then there’s that one person… Now in Version 2012 we can send notification and lock the database until the need for exclusive access is finished. No more “accidental” intrusions.
- And We’re “Going Green”! – In the past, bills always had to be printed to a printer in order to retain a bill image. Now, users may print to a file (.TXT, .RTF or .PDF) and still get a bill image. You can even email bills to clients without having to first print to paper. Definitely a boost for the environment!
There are even more features packed in and we’d like to tell you about them. So how long have you had your present version? Are you getting new computer hardware?
